Sprinkler Water Damage
A homeowner in La Crescenta, CA called SERVPRO of Chatsworth/Stevenson Ranch thirty days after his exterior sprinklers leaked water inside his home as he saw interior materials beginning to warp. We arrived on the scene and found that his kitchen cabinets and flooring and entry hallway drywall, flooring and baseboards were wet. Due to the delay in mitigation SERVPRO of Chatsworth/Stevenson Ranch set up dehumidifiers to stabilize the environment and requested inspection holes to check for mold. After finding mold inside the inspection holes, we set up containment to ensure no cross contamination occurred. The appliances and cabinetry in the kitchen were relocated and the remaining fixtures were wrapped in plastic to prepare for demolition. SERVPRO of Chatsworth/Stevenson Ranch removed the damaged drywall in the hallway and several layers of flooring. Next, we HEPA vacuumed and detail cleaned the area. SERVPRO of Chatsworth/Stevenson Ranch applied an antimicrobial solution to all cavities. This home was now ready for a contractor to come out and finish up the work!
