Water Damage Water heater
A homeowner in Stevenson Ranch, CA called SERVPRO of Chatsworth/Stevenson Ranch when her hot water heater leaked water into her garage. Our technician’s found that the water had damaged the drywall and shear wall surrounding the hot water heater, along with the ledge that it was stored upon. Due to a delay in the report of this water loss, SERVPRO of Chatsworth/Stevenson Ranch was concerned about potential mold growth and therefore set up containment before beginning demolition services. Next, we removed the drywall and insulation in this area and wiped down the wood studs with a disinfectant and antimicrobial solution. SERVPRO of Chatsworth/Stevenson Ranch placed a dehumidifier within the containment to stabilize the environment and continue drying materials overnight. When we returned all materials were dry, so our team HEPA vacuumed the area and did a final wipe down of the space. The homeowner was now able to contact her contractor to complete the work!
