Attic Water Damage
A home owner in Stevenson Ranch, CA called SERVPRO of Chatsworth/Stevenson Ranch when a pipe in her attic burst and drenched two rooms and her garage. Upon inspection in the room shown, we found that the drywall, carpeting and pad and ceiling were affected. SERVPRO of Chatsworth/Stevenson Ranch assisted the homeowner in removing the contents of the room and removed the soaked carpeting and padding. We cut out the drywall four feet high and removed the insulation behind. SERVPRO of Chatsworth/Stevenson Ranch also removed 70% of the wet ceiling and insulation. We set up dehumidifiers to stabilize the environment and air movers to begin drying additional materials. Next we detached a built-in cabinet in the closet so we could remove the remainder of the wet carpet and pad. By the next day the entire room was dry and the homeowner was able to call a contractor to finish the job.
