Slab leak water damage

A homeowner in Castaic, CA called SERVPRO of Chatsworth/Stevenson Ranch when he discovered a slab leak in his home. Upon arrival SERVPRO of Chatsworth/Stevenson Ranch found that the leak had affected the kitchen, living room and hallway. The kitchen had damage to the tile floors, drywall walls and the cabinets. After determining demolition of damaged materials would be necessary, the appliances were removed from the kitchen and containment was set up. Next, SERVPRO of Chatsworth/Stevenson Ranch removed the lower cabinets and wet drywall behind. Our technicians wire brushed and HEPA vacuumed the area and applied an antimicrobial solution. SERVPRO of Chatsworth/Stevenson Ranch placed a dehumidifier to stabilize the environment and dry out the sheer wall overnight. Upon return we found that the remaining materials were dry and tore down containment and removed the equipment. The homeowner was now able to schedule his contractor to finish the job!
