Water Heater Leak Damage
A homeowner in Montrose, CA called SERVPRO of Chatsworth/Stevenson Ranch when she noticed water damage to her ceiling. Upon arrival, our technician found that the hot water heater was leaking and water damage was found in her bathroom, living room, kitchen pantry, stairwell, garage and hallway. SERVPRO of Chatsworth/Stevenson Ranch found the drywall wall and ceiling, tile flooring and wood vanity in the bathroom were severely damaged and would need to be removed. We began by setting up containment and flooring protection and detached the vanity, a large mirror and the toilet. Next we removed the baseboards and affected drywall. We set up a dehumidifier after finding that the wood studs were wet as well. SERVPRO of Chatsworth/Stevenson Ranch removed the tile flooring and the remaining wet drywall. After the wood studs were dry, SERVPRO of Chatsworth/Stevenson Ranch HEPA vacuumed and applied an antimicrobial disinfectant the area. We removed all equipment and the homeowner could now contact her contractor to finish the job!
