Water Heater Leak Damage

A home owner in Castaic, CA called SERVPRO of Chatsworth/Stevenson Ranch when a water heater burst a garage causing damage to an office, bathroom and the concrete slab and drywall, shear wall and baseboards in the garage. Due to a time lapse in mitigation, there was also visible mold growth. SERVPRO of Chatsworth/Stevenson Ranch set up plastic containment and placed dehumidifiers to stabilize the environment. Next, we removed the damaged drywall and plywood from the water heater platform in the garage and left the dehumidifiers to dry out the studs. SERVPRO of Chatsworth/Stevenson Ranch then wire brushed the studs and applied a disinfectant solution to the entire area. The homeowner was thrilled that their home was clean and dry and ready for a contractor to finish the job!
